Writing Your Own Valentine's Day Poetry

Valentine's Day is a day for romance and poetry. Every year, thousands of men who usually approach to poetry is occasionally chuckling at a dirty limerick decide to try their hand and writing a love poem for their wife or girlfriend. Although a novice cannot expect to write on par with a poet laureate right off the bat, they can improve their chances of coming up with something nice by considering three simple guidelines.

Keep it simple. Keep it short. Keep it honest. If you can express yourself clearly, quickly and sincerely your love poem is going to be a hit. Would-be poets run into problems when the try too hard to write long, clever epics. Follow these rules and you, too, can be a poet-if only for a day.
